I'm still reading you, don't worry. This journal is going to stay right here. they don't burn the house down just because you moved out, right?

Housewarming party is here.

Everybody Knows

Everybody knows that the dice are loaded
Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed
Everybody knows that the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost
Everybody knows the fight was fixed
The poor stay poor, the rich get rich
That's how it goes
Everybody knows
Everybody knows that the boat is leaking
Everybody knows that the captain lied
Everybody got this broken feeling
Like their father or their dog just died

Everybody talking to their pockets
Everybody wants a box of chocolates
And a long stem rose
Everybody knows

Everybody knows that you love me baby
Everybody knows that you really do
Everybody knows that you've been faithful
Ah give or take a night or two
Everybody knows you've been discreet
But there were so many people you just had to meet
Without your clothes
And everybody knows

Everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows

Everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows

And everybody knows that it's now or never
Everybody knows that it's me or you
And everybody knows that you live forever
Ah when you've done a line or two
Everybody knows the deal is rotten
Old Black Joe's still pickin' cotton
For your ribbons and bows
And everybody knows

And everybody knows that the Plague is coming
Everybody knows that it's moving fast
Everybody knows that the naked man and woman
Are just a shining artifact of the past
Everybody knows the scene is dead
But there's gonna be a meter on your bed
That will disclose
What everybody knows

And everybody knows that you're in trouble
Everybody knows what you've been through
From the bloody cross on top of Calvary
To the beach of Malibu
Everybody knows it's coming apart
Take one last look at this Sacred Heart
Before it blows
And everybody knows

Everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows

Oh everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows

I wanted to write something today as I've been so lax...
but honestly, you all have said so much to me today in catching up with my friends page that I'm more in the mood for thinking and doing.
So thanks to you all; for being so honest and open and giving so much of yourselves to this little place.
Love to you, friends.
From mom!

Who Voted To Kill The Resolution To Impeach Cheney?

Americans should understand that Dennis Kucinich certainly is in favor of impeaching George W. Bush, but he wants to make sure that the man commonly known as “Darth Vader” is not waiting in the wings to take over, so it is Kucinich’s plan to impeach Cheney first.

It was with this in mind that Dennis Kucinich brought a resolution to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney to the floor of the House of Representatives today. The Democratic Party leadership in the House has pledged never to impeach Bush or Cheney, no matter what they do. So, with Nancy Pelosi’s approval, Democratic Representative Steny Hoyer brought a motion almost immediately to table the impeachment resolution.

j. cliffordTo table the resolution would have been, essentially, to destroy it. Tabling the resolution takes it out of consideration, putting it in a big pile of forgotten resolutions that are not discussed any longer, not even in committee. So, the vote on whether to table the resolution to impeach Cheney was the first vote indicating the position of particular members of Congress on impeachment. Did they want the impeachment resolution considered or not?

Some Democrats voted against considering the impeachment resolution. Some voted for considering the impeachment resolution. The same was true of the Republicans. Some for considering impeachment, and some against.

Specifically, 135 Democrats voted to kill the impeachment resolution. Only 86 Democrats voted in favor of considering the impeachment resolution. However, only 27 Republicans voted against considering the impeachment resolution, and 165 Republicans voted in favor of considering the impeachment resolution.

In short, most Democrats wanted impeachment of Cheney swept under the rug, while most Republicans wanted to the impeachment resolution to continue forward.

The end result was that, after many votes on whether to table the resolution, the Democratic Party leadership’s attempt to kill the impeachment resolution failed. A coalition of Republicans and Democrats came together to, for very different reasons, defeat the effort to table the resolution.

The Kucinich resolution to impeach Cheney is now sent to the House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Democrat John Conyers. If you want to impeach Dick Cheney, he’s the man to give a telephone call to: (202) 225-5126

More than that, you need to check up on your own member of Congress. Was your representative among those who tried to hush up the resolution to impeach Cheney? The last names of those members of Congress who voted in favor of killing the impeachment resolution are seen below:

My, lots of posting on my part today. I really want to get into this thing again, honest.
Since I know that non-lj users read this page and may need some clarification as to why I wrote them that Dear John(friend) letter- I'll attempt it and have it as a matter of public record.
It's not that I hate anyone or am particularly angry at most of them. I will fess up to my feelings being hurt though; I'm a person and my feelings can be a little loud and overwhelming, just like everyone else. And no one handles being hurt the way they would like.
I've given a lot of time and thought to this. I don't take closing the friendship door lightly, and those of you that know me in my real life know that it's damn near impossible for me to accomplish anyway. And that's not exactly my intent anyway. My intent is to call the thing what it is as opposed to it being a white elephant in the corner of my mind. These people are not my friends. They were, once, and for a very, very long time.
And although it may look like I'm the one that's cutting people out, that's not the case. I was dumped quite awhile ago but no one bothered to tell me. I'm not quite like that, so I told.
Am telling.
I don't intend to bolt the door or anything; common ground may exist at another time and I'll (probably) be open to exploring that. But it doesn't now and I'm tired of being ignored and not given a shit about by people that say they love me or whatever. And I do love them, but that's not the point.
So, there. That explains that.

Dear ____,
so, screw it. I call shennanigans on you and this whole "friend" business.
It's been about a year since you have bothered to return a phone call. same goes for ___.I think I'm unwilling to keep up the pretense when I've called, emailed and tried to involve each of you somehow to the extent that our friendships and history deserves in my life- none of you see fit to return the favor so-
meh.
Seems to be over. I guess I just wish this could have gone out with a little more fanfare.
20 years is a fucking long time and deserves some respect if you ask me,and of course you didn't bother. Even more so if we happen to live in the same town, which we do.

For the first three people who respond- and re-post - this challenge, I will send you something. It might be something I've made, or something cool from my hidden stash, it might be a mix CD - or a rubber duck, a book I think you will enjoy, or something else that is awesome. Whatever it is, I promise that I will get it to you in 30 days or less.

The only thing you need to do in order to participate is to be one of the first three to reply to this, AND post this very same thing* - 'cause its fun to give people stuff.
:)

Your Score: The Oracle

33% Extroversion, 80% Intuition, 44% Emotiveness, 76% Perceptiveness

Heuristic, detached, and analytical to a fualt, you are most like The Oracle. You are able to tackle any subject with a fine toothed comb, and you possess an ability to pinpoint nuances and shades of meaning that other people do not have and cannot understand. Accomplishment and realization of ideas are, for you, secondary to the rigorous exploration of ideas and questions -- you are, first and foremost, a theorist. You hate authority, convention, tradition, and under no circumstances do you accept a leadership role (although, you will gladly advise leadership when they're going astray, whether they want you to or not). Abstraction and generalities are your interests, details and particulars are usually inconsequential and uninteresting. You excel at language, mathematics and philosophy.

You are typically easy-going and non-confrontational until someone violates one of the very few principles that you deem sacred, at which point you can fly into a rage. Although you possess a much greater understanding of process and systems than the people around you, you are always conscious of the possibility that you've missed something or made a mistake. You don't tend to become attached to particular theories, and will immediately discard mistaken notions once they're revealed to be incorrect (but you don't tolerate iconoclasts who try to discredit validated theories through the use of fallacies and bad data). Despite being outwardly humble, you probably think of yourself as being smarter than most other people. That's because you are. In fact, in your dealings with people your understanding of their motives is so expansive that you know what they're going to say before they say it, and in world affairs, you usually know what is going to take place before it actually does. This ability would make you unbeatable in debates if only you were a little less pensive about your own conclusions, and a little more outgoing.

Famous people like you: Albert Einstein, Charles Darwin, Adam Smith, Thomas Jefferson, John McWhorter, Ramanujan, Marie Curie, Kurt Godel

Lady Jaye.

Add to Memories Tell a Friend

Genesis Breyer P-Orridge and her reactivated Psychic TV aka PTV3 are terribly sad to announce the cancellation of their November North American tour dates. This decision is entirely due to the unexpected passing of band member Lady Jaye Breyer P-Orridge. Lady Jaye died suddenly on Tuesday 9th October 2007 at home in Brooklyn, New York from a previously undiagnosed heart condition which is thought to have been connected with her long-term battle with stomach cancer. Lady Jaye collapsed and died in the arms of her heartbroken "other half" Genesis Breyer P-Orridge. Being overwhelmed by the enormity of their loss, Genesis and the other surviving band members of Psychic TV/PTV3 are not able to properly meet the demands of touring and performance. Obviously, her absence onstage , the conspicuous loss of her unique charisma, music and humour would be an unbearable emotional reality to confront night after night. The group, who have been touring to promote their first studio album in 12 years, will announce future plans after an appropriate period of mourning.

because I never do anymore. I don't know what it is about this place, I think it's just me. Haven't felt like writing and many others havent either, apparently.
I'm not doing much with my day off other than intermittent straightening, Kratom grinding and lying about.Work takes alot out of me, to tell you the truth, but I do have more going on in my life than usual.
Dad will be here on tuesday which is fucking fantastic!

I haven't seen him in almost a year and for a daddy's girl, that's a damn long time. I've been trying to think of things to do and so far have come up with The Delta, the museum, Powells, the Kennedy School and maybe a movie. I really want to see The Darjeeling Limited so maybe that. And perhaps a visit with Daniel.
Work was fun last week; we're all rolling around with coroporate changes, and anger from the general cel-phone bearing populace. I know most of you have little to no understanding of the technology that you are so fucking dependant on but please- I know you wouldn't set your dvd player out in the rain or drop it down the toilet and then rip the head off of the techician that tells you it won't work anymore, and no, your insurance doesn't cover that.
right?
Here's a little lesson in the battle between electronics and water:

Water Wins.
Every time.

Have a beautiful week everyone, and lots of love from me.
